Responsibilities
Société Générale Global Transaction Banking (GTB) includes payment and cash management, cash clearing services, trade services, factoring and foreign exchange services associated to these activities. GTB integrates all the expertise and services required to facilitate the daily transactional activities of major economic and financial actors both in a domestic and international scope.
As a Cash Management Officer, you will be part of the GTB Payments & Cash Management Team in the Netherlands supporting Corporates and Non-Bank Financial Institutions in their daily activities and you will report to the Head of the GTB Middle Office.
Cash Management includes all the processes companies use to improve their treasury management. It allows companies to have better control of their financial and cash flows and to improve their information gathering. In a group of companies, cash management can be used to manage risks such as liquidity risk.
In our Amsterdam office, the Payments & Cash Management team deliver and support transactional banking products and services that are provided to our corporate customers which includes:
- bank accounts management
- monitoring of domestic and international payment orders
- set up of e-banking channels for the safe exchange of information between our customers and their bank (payments, reporting)
- financing arrangements where we provide intraday and overnight facilities.
- liquidity Management solutions like cash pooling
- domestic guarantees
The role requires a strong client service orientation, analytical and communication skills as well as professional integrity at all times.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, high quality client service and support to achieve high client satisfaction and loyalty
- Act as a dedicated first point of contact for our clients regarding all their daily banking requests
- Support the commercial activities of the front office and identify sales opportunities
- Implement and support both domestic and international Cash Management products and services
- Administration of customer data and management of customer billing and invoicing
- Liaise with back-office teams to ensure both timely and correct execution of payment orders
- Treat AML, Sanctions & Embargoes requests
- Manage KYC (Know your customer) anomalies/Manage customer files
Profile required
Studies & experience:
- Relevant bachelor’s in Finance or similar
- A minimum of 3-year transactional banking experience would be appreciated
Language skills:
- Written and verbal fluency in English and Dutch
- French is optional, but would represent an advantage
Technical, operational & Soft skills:
- A sound operational and commercial attitude coupled with cash management knowledge
- An ability to work in co-operation with other departments of the bank
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Able to work autonomously and use initiative where appropriate
- Organized and able to prioritize work appropriately
- Team player
